Ductless Mini Split Installation In The GTA & Surrounding

Room-by-room comfort with no ductwork — most single-zone jobs done in a day.

Comfort Without Ductwork

A ductless mini-split delivers heating and cooling without a single duct. A slim indoor head mounts high on your wall, connected by a small line set through a three-inch opening to an outdoor unit. Each head has its own remote and thermostat, so every room gets exactly the temperature its occupants want.

Because there are no ducts, there are no duct losses — and in a typical home, leaky or uninsulated ductwork quietly wastes a meaningful share of every heating and cooling dollar. Installation is minimally invasive: no tearing open walls, no major renovation, and most single-zone jobs are done in a day.

Where Ductless Shines

Ductless is the obvious answer for homes without existing ductwork — older Toronto and GTA houses with radiators or baseboards, additions and sunrooms the main system never reached, converted garages, home offices, and finished basements. It is also the precision tool for problem rooms: the bedroom over the garage that is always freezing, the upstairs that bakes every July while the main floor is fine.

Instead of overhauling your entire duct system to fix one room, a single ductless zone solves it directly. We see these scenarios every week across the GTA, and a targeted ductless zone is very often the most cost-effective fix.

One Outdoor Unit, Multiple Zones

You do not need an outdoor unit for every room. Multi-zone ductless systems connect two, three, or more indoor heads to a single outdoor unit, each controlled independently. Heat the home office during the workday while the bedrooms stay off; cool only the rooms you are actually using on a summer evening.

We install multi-zone systems from Mitsubishi, Daikin, and Gree, and we design the zone layout around how your household really lives — not around what is easiest to install. Fewer outdoor units means less equipment on the side of your house, lower installed cost per zone, and a cleaner look overall.

Cold-Climate Ductless: Real Winter Heating

Modern ductless heat pumps are not just air conditioners that dabble in heating — the cold-climate models we install are engineered to heat effectively through an Ontario winter. Many of our customers heat with their ductless system as their primary heat source, keeping the old furnace or baseboards as backup for the coldest snaps.

We mount outdoor units on stands or wall brackets above the snow line and configure defrost properly, because a heat pump buried in a snowdrift in February is a service call waiting to happen. If you are replacing electric baseboard heat, the operating-cost difference is dramatic — heat pumps move heat instead of creating it, which is why they cost so much less to run.

How Installation Works

After your free assessment, we agree on indoor head locations — high on the wall, with clear airflow and away from direct sun on the sensor. On installation day, the outdoor unit goes on a level stand or solid wall brackets, we drill a small weather-sealed opening for the line set, mount each indoor head, run and insulate the refrigerant lines, connect the condensate drain, and wire everything to code.

Then we pressure-test, evacuate, charge the system, and commission every zone: each head tested in heating and cooling, remotes paired, and airflow verified. We walk you through operation and filter cleaning before we leave. Most homes are done in a single day with minimal disruption.

Ductless Installation Cost

Single-zone ductless installations start at $2,599. Final price depends on home size and scope — the number of indoor zones, the capacity each zone needs, wall versus ceiling cassette heads, and any electrical work required. Multi-zone systems cost more than single-zone but far less per room than separate systems. Your written quote is free and fully itemized.

Qualifying cold-climate ductless systems may also be eligible for Ontario heat pump rebates of up to $7,500 back, paid to you, the homeowner — ask us during your quote and we will explain the basics honestly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Many Indoor Heads Do I Need?
One head comfortably conditions one open area — a living room, a bedroom, a finished basement. Open-concept main floors sometimes need two. During your free assessment we map your floor plan and recommend the zone count that actually fits how you live.
Are Ductless Units Noisy?
Indoor heads are remarkably quiet — most run at a low hum you will stop noticing within a day, and many have a whisper-quiet sleep mode. Outdoor units are comparable to a normal conversation. Noise is one of the most common pleasant surprises for new owners.
Do Ductless Systems Really Heat In Winter?
The cold-climate models we install do — they are engineered for Ontario winters and keep heating well below freezing. We mount the outdoor unit above the snow line and set up defrost correctly, which is what separates a reliable winter system from a disappointing one.
What Maintenance Does A Ductless System Need?
Rinse or vacuum the indoor filters every month or two — it takes five minutes and keeps efficiency up. We recommend a professional service once a year to check refrigerant, clean the coils, and verify drainage. That is the whole list.

One room or the whole house — ductless gives you control room by room. We will map the right zones for your home.
